Blogging for books

I blog and get books and products for free...
Okay, I am going to share something that some of you may want to start doing. I love reading and have lots and lots of time to read. If you are a blogger and love to read and try new products you may want to try and do what I do.
Remember Ruthie Talk is about teaching you to do things for free that others won't share or that would cost you money to learn.
I write to authors and ask them if they will send me their books and let them know I will write a review for them. What I do because I love to read is to read the book immediately and then post my blog so my readers can enjoy the review. I have had people tweet me on twitter (i"m @rr4r on twitter -- click http://www.twitter.com.rr4r ) tell me they love to read and it is fun when you are all over the net to get the feed back. I always point my friends to where I am so that the authors for the cost of a book get the most exposure I can give them. I love too meeting the various authors.
The other thing I do is product reviews and write to various companies asking them to send me products so I can review them and share them with my readers. Right now as I am typing this I am looking a some gorgeous tissues from Kleenex all done up in in a Christmas theme. I have the boxes sitting on my desk so HUNDREDS of people will be able to see them as they pass by me and I can share how great they are to everyone. of course if you like me and you are in sales and just are a social butterfly naturally you are going to share these things with people naturally. So if you love blogging and love free stuff and trying stuff and sharing your findings with others you may want to try your hand at book and product reviews. If you have a product or book you would like me to review please email me at RuthieReviews@live.com and put PLEASE REVIEW BOOK OR PRODUCT in the subject line.

Hard Work

Taking Control of your own "sales" Business equals HARD WORK
I work on a sales floor for Lazboy. But in a way I work for my self because I am the one that determines how much pay I receive for the work that I do. The galleries and desk I go to everyday is really just my office. Sometimes I have to tune out all the voices around myself and to remind myself that in a sense I am always on and just in and out of the office to make the sales. My goal is to do what is best for the customer and to only work with those who can promote me. As always in sales you will have other sales people taking up your day and time and at the end of the day hard work is what matters. Time is the currency of the wealthy. Use your workday wisely building your sales instead of wasting your time gossiping and joking around. Focus on the customer and put all your energy there.
Stay upbeat and positive and be full of energy.
HARD WORK- HARD WORK HARD WORK
Keep working hard and your business will pay you richly. In sales you have to remember that you are working for yourself. Take the reins on everythinhg that involves your personal business and don't rely on others for anything. Appreciate the help - but like a business owner and you do detrermine your own pay if you are on the sales floor and are paid commission for your sales. So don't waste your time with sales people that may not even be there next year but keep pressing forward and being the best top performer that you can be. Learn everything that you can about your products and work your names and your customers and keep building up your customer base and ask for referrals. Get yourself to the point where you are working with your customers 24/7 rather than joking around with the sales crew 24/7
Again for this to happen the secret is HARD WORK!

Have you met Estelle?

Lazboy's Estelle lift chair
WHile waiting on a customer in the galleries today,
I noticed a brand new piece on the floor :) It was the
Estelle lift chair, what I liked about this new chair was that it had a unique shape and came in a heat and Massage! very cool. battery back -up and it also comes in brown and burgendy shades standard. If you come into the Lazboy galleries in clay, Ny please ask for me Ruthie appleby at the door to wait on you.

Dunkin donuts Calendar

Did you get your dunkin donut Calendar?
I admit it, I love dunkin donuts! Hands down, they have the best coffee in the world, and I love the dunkin donuts near my place of business as the girls are always friendly. I am a
regular there. The free calendar has coupons for the whole year! What I liked to is the calendar tells a little about the History of Dunken Donuts. Here was December's reading "In 1946, William (Bill) Rosenberg invested $5,000 to form Industrial Luncheon Services, and began selling quality coffee and tasty sandwiches to workers out of a truck in Dorchester, Massachusetts. " - taken from the 2010 Dunken Donuts calendar.
Dunken Donuts is also celebrating 60 years of service.
Today I went over a second time to dunken donuts and they had a sign on the door for a new mint chocolate donuts and mint chocolate Latte yum! I got a kick out of one of the guys there I said how are they and he said fabulous! thumbs up to dunkin donuts

Christmas at Bravo Ridge by Christine Rimmer

Christmas at Bravo Ridge by Christine Rimmer

Today I received a great book by Christine Rimmer and read it all the way through! This is a nice story to read over the Holidays about how Connie engaged to a minister, the mother of one child from Matt Bravo thinking that the relationship is over- comes to terms with herself realizing that her love life for Matt has just begun. What really makes things interesting in the story is that Matt's parents are having marriage problems and they too reunite over the course of the book. Matt still holds the flame for Connie and no matter what happens he holds on until the end. Connie finds that her attraction to Matt is so strong that she ends up breaking her engagement with the minister and starts seeing Matt more and more. She ends up expecting again with Matt. Matt we see begging her to marry him again and again and finally she realizes this is who she should be with. The story ends on a great note as we see a happy family reunited. This is a great little read of about 200 pages, like one of my friends said to me I love the books you can grab and read in one day. This is one of those sweet little books you can stick in your purse and read throughout the day and finish quickly and enjoy the warm fuzzies with. I am looking forward to reading more from Christine Rimmer. Thumbs up!
